Kid is Powerful compared to rest of Supernova
But don't compare him to Luffy & Zoro
But Scenario wise, ofc he is gonna show more
When he first appeared in Wano, this is what we got about Kid:
1. Got thrown into Prison because his Alliance failed & lost against Kaido
2. It was revealed that he lost his Arm trying to fight Red-Hair Pirates
3. Caribou called him a Failure & said that he couldn't even meet Big Mom
4. He escaped & found his First Mate defeated & humiliated
5. He was Angry/Sad/Envious seeing Luffy & Samurai fighting in Prison while he felt Alone
And when he see his Fighting Style, we see that his Signature Moves are very similar to Luffy's Signature Moves (Gear 3 & 4)
And just like Luffy have Zoro, he has Killer
Kid is clearly there to show us what would have happened for Luffy if he didn't Prepare for NW, Train for 2 Years & have the Ability to gather Allies because Kid is basically like a "What if" Luffy
Kid & Killer are Non-Successful Versions of Luffy & Zoro
So now they have a Second Chance to prove themselves against Kaido & obviously they will
I expect that by end of Wano Arc, Kid won't be Considered a Failed Supernova anymore, but a Solid PK Candidate
However Luffy & Zoro will always be Superior than Kid & Killer
But don't compare him to Luffy & Zoro

Also, Oda is doing here a classic build up for shonen and manga-fights. The ladder goes up and up with the fighters. There is a reason why Goku and Vegeta always do the last fights, there is a reason why Naruto always got the last fight in an ark and there is a reason why Luffy always gets the last one. The strongest fights come last. Thats why firstly Killer had to shine, follow up by Zoro now, next will be Law, then we will get Kid and Luffy. Usual fighting order.

All of these Achievement are because of Luffy's Ability to Gather Allies & because he Trained for 2 Years & his Alliance with Law worked.
Kid is the Luffy 2.0 who didn't have any of this & thus why he is considered a Failure by someone like Caribou
If you believe Kid = Luffy even though one Trained for 2 Years & the other one rushed to NW & received all these Losses then i guess either you believe Kid is God Tier or Luffy is Trash Tier & Rayleigh was Stupid for advising him to Train for 2 whole Years
Kid = Unprepared & Lonely Luffy
Luffy & Zoro > Kid & Killer
It's certainly too soon to judge what he will do in the long term, but it is a fact that Oda is heavily mistreating the character for the moment. Even if he has big plans and wants to make a surprise.
I like Kidd, I love robotics in real life, I wish he stood by his hype and portrayal and was revealed decidedly stronger than both Killer and Law and only weaker than the monster duo.
We will see what Oda has in store for the remainder of the arc and even more generically.

Thats just you way of interpretation here.
You could call it also like that:
He went straight of for the New World, without getting 2 years training of some legends, without the whole world helping him (Rayleigh, Kuma, Boa Hancock, Whitebeard + Crew, some Pincesses, some kings...), and still he is able to fight several Yonko crews without dying and without getting catched by the Marine. Is still considered as one of the most dangerous pirates right now, was still able to steal Big Mum whatever he wanted and now is still at the same high and with the same position on top of the roof against Kaido and Big Mum.
So you can try to downplay him, but him reaching that point, power and respect, by doing it all by himself, without legends and half the world babysitting him, is pretty impressive. So his loses in New World, in combination with his standing up and unbroken Mind (compare it f.e. to Hawkins or Apoo, which switched sides immediatetly) are hyping him up way more than some gifted wins.
Its just a different point of view.
