Blackening in general is associated to CoA, I think it's obvious that a black blade is the result of extreme lvl of CoA combined with great mastery of the sword.

The Grandmaster shall hopefully become Grandmaster of both CoC and CoA and then perhaps by that point he will have achieved the highly hyped black blade.

I still personally believe that CoA is more probably the major trigger if not the only, unless maybe Mihawk's CoC was and is superior or not inferior to Shanks', then things may change.

Black blades are obviously not Forged from CoC, zoro himself admitted he doesn't know he has CoC but yet wants to forge a black blade

First, excellent threat.

I have been thinking about black blades for a while and I've always felt like there was one crucial piece of information missing that is needed to forge a black blade. Up until now I can never figure it out. With the latest chapter it all makes sense. CoC is the missing piece needed to forge a black blade.

Based on all information I have I believe to create a Black blade two powers are required. The user must have CoA blackened haki and CoC haki. CoA haki represents the material needed to create the Black blade while CoC haki represents the tool needed to forge the blade.

I know some posts have asked why Roger, WB, Shanks and other top tiers don't have a black blade. I believe it's because they have never fully conquered their weapons. They are conquerors but in different ways. Don't misunderstand me, I believe they have mastered their weapons and master their fighting style but not have fully conquered their weapons, there's a difference. When I think of conquering a weapon I'm thinking of completely dominating a weapon with will power. We know that haki is willpower. By dominating their weapon they're turning their weapon into a permanent extension of their self that is represented by a black blade that unbreakable. The black blade can be looked at as they're unbreakable will.

This way Oda can make Mihawk and Ryuma look incredibly impressive and powerful since they have achieved something almost no one else have done without making people like Roger and WB look bad.
