Yeah that’s right folks, Critical is back in the house!

Hello dear readers! Let's take a seat. Monet will bring you some cookies and any type of drink you want, save for alcohol that would bring you out of mind.

Now that we find ourselves in a sea battle with Jimbei having made a big entrance onto the scene, undoubtedly this will be his first real big showcase of his fishman karate prowess in the environment in which it is most suited for; as unlike in WCI where he was not in liberty to jump in the sea to fight off his pursuers due to the need to stay put on and steer the ship. Now he is unfettered by such constraints and can thus do a real and epic demo as a confirmed member of the Strawhat Pirates, and we all expect nothing short of a great spectacle. What can get more metal than that? How can we possibly add to the pageantry of the next chapter?

Yeah, pagenatry is the right word to use here, because I believe the first hammer blow struck by the almighty Beast Pirates will come from none other than the person we’ve all been waiting for to make a grand entrance in the Wano arc:

This would be the perfect time to showcase Apoo’s anti-personnel use of his acoustic ability as ultrasound would also prove more powerful in water than air. We've seen Oven being able to put his hands under water and transmit heat throughout the water, and this would suggest that a certain portion of a devil fruit users body can effectively be submerged and still operate their devil fruit ability without any issue. Now here is where I see some potential where Apoo can do some heavy damage. As he can direct acoustic beams with extreme magnification and "fine tuning" toward his targets, this would come in handy really well as a means of a sonic weapon using the physical principle of cavitation.

So what is cavitation? If we just start by looking at what sound is, sound is simply a wave of alternating high and low energy. As the wave is transmitted through any physical medium, it will compress and stretch the molecular space of that medium, and the molecules of that medium will oscillate in response to this energy fluctuation. When a sufficiently large force of ultrasound is applied to a liquid, a negative pressure is formed such that the distance between the molecules will exceed the minimum molecular distance required for the liquid to remain intact as a liquid. As a result the liquid breaks down in these negative pressure regions and form voids/bubbles of vapor that is actually vacuum. This process of breaking up the liquid and generating vacuum bubbles in this was is called cavitation.

Cavitation is then simply put the formation and abrupt collapse of cavities of vacuum (gas bubbles) formed in a fluid due to a rapid change in water pressure where the local pressure decreases below that of the vapor pressure of water that the water starts to boil as a result of a reduction in pressure rather than heat addition: a rapid reduction in the the static water pressure giving rise to bubbles or “voids” of vacuum that grow larger, subsequently being transported to a region of higher pressure whereupon the bubble stops growing as the vapor pressure of the bubble cannot be maintained due to the higher surrounding water pressure. The surface of the bubble consequently starts condensing until it eventually breaks down and implodes. It's during this implosion that powerful shock waves are generated when the water is sucked in to fill the void whereby the pressure drastically surges, where orders of magnitude of upwards of several hundred megpascals, MPa, have been recorded (the atmospheric pressure is approximately equal to 10 MPa).

This is also the reason why cavitation is a major problem in all kinds of hydraulic machinery that operate at high speeds, like pumps and diesel engines for instance (it can also be a great boon when used in other areas such as water cleaning for instance). A major area where cavitation present a huge problem is the erosion of ship propellers of submarine vessels rotating through the water with high speeds where, as a result, you will have a positive pressure is formed on the face of the propeller blade and a negative pressure on its back resulting in cavitation incurring structural damage onto the solid surface; hence why submarines don't generally exceed a given speed because not only does cavitation result in structural damage but the collapsing pressure wave also makes a lot of noise, which from a stealth point of view is unwanted.

A cool example where cavitation is being put to practice are the amazing examples of pistol and mantis shrimps using this phenomenon to hunt and kill prey and blow apart bedrock. The pistol shrimp is quite an awesome creature, around 4cm in length weighing up to 25 grams, but don't be deceived by it's less than intimidating size. This little bugger can move it's claws at speed of up to 115km/hr, and its the speed at which it's snaps creates this cavitational effect, accompanied by a large bang from which it receives its name from the loud bang that it creates with the loud snapping of its claws. This can reach upwards of 218 dB, louder than a pistol which averages around 150 decibel, making it one of the loudest animals in the ocean, even capable of disrupting sonar transmissions by larger vessels and u-boats and other underwater communications. In its specialised claw, half its body length, there is a cavity where water is collected, and when the jaw is snapped shut at such a high speed, the water is pushed out as a cavitating extremely powerful water jet as a result of the internal low pressure being created that tears the water apart, becoming a death stream. This effect is used to immobilize and stun their prey and can reportedly reach temperature of up to 4,800 degrees centigrade, comparable to the surface temperature of the sun, albeit over a smaller area and tapering off as it propogates away from the source. The bubble collapses are so energetic that light is emitted, a phenomenon known as sonoluminescence. All very impressive for such a small little critter.

Cavitation bubbles have the ability to focus intense amount of energy and forces during their collapse, so imagine this being harnessed and weaponised in underwater environments by means of intense (and remote) acoustic power creating cavitating fields of superhot bubbles, blowing shit to smitherins genereating extremely loud sounds and bright, energetic light in the process!

Imagine Apoo. Imagine Apoo vs Jimbie!

I may have to edit this later but for now this will have to do. Enjoy!

Apoo is too busy partying rn. He is not the type to come in the middle of the sea to confront all the alliance by himself.

Besides jimbei would destroy him. He's reserved for killer or kidd. Maybe even Hawkins if he changes side.
He could be a major nuisance with his ultrasonic, cavitational attacks and it would fit perfectly with Jimbei now having entered the battle scene. If there ever was a time to hype up Apoo and Jimbei, this is it I think

btw, I think I remember you from Orojackson, am I right?

I had an account on Orojackson with the same UN but never posted any comment.

I don't think Oda will go for that scenario, I feel like Apoo will have his time during the raid. They finally got rid of the last ship, now it's time for them to start the offensive.
Maybe they will arrive at onigashima, make some plans and that will be the end of act 3.

It's just fun seeing you making funny and enjoyable theories that make me laugh LOL. Good job though but Apoo vs Jinbei is a interesting match-up for sure:zorothink:It's could happen but who knows?:jordanmf:
Funny, well ok, if you say so :) have you read any other of my theories then?

Again, thought it would be cool to showcase Apoo this way and have him fight my favorite martial artist. Fishmen definitely need hype and would love Jimbei to show why he is called the Son of the Sea

Yeah I saw your other theories as well, especially the Greenbull's devil fruit one XD. Looking forward for more content LOL. Keep up your good work man:cheers::kata:

Well its too late for Apoo to come after them to the sea but nonetheles a unique way of expanding ones ability for sure. Just a thought, I wonder if he could create powerful enough sound waves that would as the end result have the creation of some version of knock up streams. A DF that has potential, if Oda cared enough.
A knock up stream is a high pressure buildup as I understand it, but Apoo uses low pressure buildup for weaponisation, but sure there are maybe some ways to work his way around it. :)
