I'm not, whatever the cause he should have been able to break out
Even irl, say someone is having a severe headache but his house is on fire, he'd gather his will and get his ass out of danger.
This is exactly the case here, Kidd was having headaches while getting mauled by Big Mom, he definitely tried to regroup himself because that's literally a survival instinct, but he failed to do so meaning his will was weak.

How can he break out of something he has no knowledge of?

To what I have understood so far.
It's like more concentrated haki which does the job.
Out the of capacity of Haki everyone holds. like per say 100% at start of fight.
Using 20%-40% as a haki blast. it's a concentration of haki used that much.
That's what I understood out ofdf can be countered by a great deal of haki.
For yonkou they might actively used the blast of haki to coat their skin. Both Bigmam and Kaidou were built different.
Kaidou was superior due to fruit but Bigmam being that tuff made no sense apart from Haki (CoA).
Law didn't transported Luffy and Zoro in their major attacks like Luffy being in g4 or zoro using Heavily ryou based attacks or ashura. Law can't teleport them at that point. We all know those two attack include Haki blasts to raise their AP.
I could be totally wrong about it. Or I have missed panel law using room on G4. or on zoro when His ryou and ashura was extensively active.

He probably isn’t a haki god but that’s a better haki feat than 99% of characters have shown
BB knows just about everything there is to know about devil fruits
He knew he could safely eat 2 of them (somehow) and he knows how to extract them directly
I’d be surprised if he didn’t know how to counter a devil fruit
