Zoro will likely defeat Mihawk at the end. But why will the two fight? Crossguild is currently hunting marines, not pirates. A second Marineford war is coming. Last time, there was a break in in Impeldown. I think this time, Crossguild will do that. They will free Doflamingo, who will join them. Doffy probably knows Imu. He will broker a deal with Crossguild and the secret king. After all, he was the foremost power broker before. Then Crossguild will fight the Strawhats.
I could imagine the following match ups:
Buggy vs Ussop
Mihawk vs Zoro
Doffy vs Sanji
Crocodile vs Jinbe

The fight will be after that. After taking down the World Government Zoro will reach the level superior to Shanks.

The chronology I believe is Teach falls and Luffy becomes the Pirate King, then there's the war against WG and then it's time for the other Straw Hats to fulfill their dreams.

Similar to that chapter with Roger navigating the world, there might be some chapters with Nami fulfilling her dream, Brook finding Laboon etc. Among these chapters there must be Zoro's fight with Mihawk.

Why would crocodile or mihawk bust him out in the first place they have no personal connection other than the fact they were once former Shichibukai. Besides that what makes you think doflamingo can't bust himself out? He has the leverage to do so if need to.
