To be honest, considering how underwhelming Ryokugyu's fight was and how Kizaru's turned out this arc, I wouldn't be surprised if Kizaru either stays buried or just does a short 3 panel Vegapunk rescue and then gets the Smoker treatment for the next 7 years.
