Oda is definitely going to pull a Dragon Quest and pull out an ancient demon out of nowhere to be the actual final villain based on his comments in Japan before Film Red about "demons like this exist in the one piece world, i just haven't shown them yet" or w/e it was. I've been pushing Blackbeard has something sealed inside of his darkness for a long time.
When would BBs prime be? We know his powers too. All we saw from Imu was Domi Reversi and some reality warping and this is in a flashback near endgame. I wouldnt rule out BB but to say Imu cant be an end villain contender is a bit of a reach.

What makes you think BB not having reached his prime means prime BB could take Imu down? For me, BB's power progression is only meant to parallel Luffy's and foreshadow their big showdown, so I don't see anything narratively wrong with him still having room to grow stronger, even if he's not the FV.
