Why was there so much emphasis on Harald recognizing Pranks from somewhere ?
Is it like the Buggy situation ? They had no idea he was on Roger's crew until Marineford. Did Harald meet Roger at some point when he was in Elbaph ? Why is it important anyway ?

This is so weird.
I believe it's to set up something like the reason Shanks went after Loki was he believed he maliciously murdered him and he wanted to avenge him or something.

@soupongo What did Harald mean when he said he thought he saw Saint Shanks/Shamrock somewhere before? Maybe Saint Shanks really is a Joyboy lookalike…
Presumably, he saw the Roger pirates at some point, given the idea that they navigated the entire world, which should include Elbaf, and he just saw Shanks among them, but wouldn´t have been able to know much about him/his name. Harald is a couple centuries short of being able to have met Joyboy, so.

If Harald met the Roger Pirates, then surely this chapter would’ve been the time to show that? Giants live for like 300 years, so Joyboy was just a few generations back for them. Maybe they have some murals of him on Elbaf

As silly as it sounds with the focus on Rocks recently, the flashback is ultimately about Loki,Oda skipped about 20 years of Haralds life, where he could have reasonably seen Shanks, and I doubt it´s more complicated then that. I would be more willing to believe it if the Giants were more established to be people who know stuff about the void century, which would make sense, but they clearly don´t? Doesn´t seem like Harald was familiar with Davy Jones when Xebec mentioned him. And just generally, they seem pretty caught up in their own affairs to care about the rest of the world.

Yeah it seems more likely Imu is the sea god, even the abyss marks makes reference to the sea.I thoguht Davy jones would’ve been the sea god but it seems not,now that makes me wonder who is the forest god and earth god?
Davey Jones being the Forest God and creating Devil Fruits makes most sense to me. Like Blackbeard the character most associated with DFs so his ancestor being the creator of them would be fitting. Maybe that's why the Yami can nullify other DFs because that's the way Davey Jones made them.

Actually, I think I have a better idea why Harald was giving Shanks the side eye. Like how we consider Chapter 0 canon, but not Strong World, if we don't take RED canon, but we do it's supplementary materials, Shanks was worth a hair over a billion by the time he went to Foosha.

So it may just be Harald remembering Shanks has a huge bounty on him and wondering why he's allowed to walk around freely.
