I don't understand these theories about Elbaf's fruit being Nika, are people saying Loki didn't eat it and we (or at least I) got baited? What a lame twist that would be
Loki ate some fruit, but no, it's almost assuredly the treasure was indeed Luffy's.

Do you remember the chapter when Harald was shown to have been devilized? There was someone stealing something while it happened.
 
You need to retake a history class. Caesar was trying to become a dictator, aka the 8th king after the legendary 7. Only his nephew/son managed to become first emperor.
Also it's possible that I'm forgetting something but I'm pretty sure Caesar never pimped himself to other rulers in an attempt to integrate Rome into a bigger empire.

Like, if that ever happened I'd totally have come across it in the Asterix comics.
