--- Note that I'm not saying Oda couldn't have possibly thought this up even pre-TS, but in my opinion he did such a terrible job portraying it that it's an absolute retcon to me. And yes, I am aware that Luffy's powers actually make more sense now. --

-- I always hated G4 until Kaido pointed out how unexplicable the power was. Now I like that G4 actually makes sense. That's the one part I like about the reveal.

Thinking about it. If you remove the Gorosei from the equation, the power reveal itself is fine. It's them being behind the whole conspiracy, ignoring the fruit throughout the manga, but suddenly feeling the need to do something about it at the risk of enraging Kaido just 10 seconds before Luffy coincidentially awakens the power is what ruins it for me. Coupled with WW's conversation 1 minute earlier.
