General & Others Zoro and Sanji, Wings of Pirate King

From @chrono @Jackteo @The Unworthy @RayanOO @MonsterZoro @ShishioIsBack

It's saddening that Sanji is finally getting special recognition. He's getting extreme hype as being recognised as the "Wings of the PK". But of course idiotic fans from both sides arw ruining this. Sanji fans are obssesed with matching him with Zoro, instead of appreciating the fact that Oda just gave special recognition to Sanji. Recognition that Zoro never got. And jealous Zoro fans are preying on the fact that Sanji fans are desperate to equate Sanji and Zoro, so they're making the title seem lame and unimportant. At the end of the fucking day, Robin ( a SH) has just declared Sanji has a special high ranking within the SHs. Showing he's above them all except Luffy. Whether Zoro has that ranking or not is irrelevant. Its obvious being called the Wings of the PK, is a position right under Luffy himself. Right now Sanji has just been declared above every other SH bar Luffy. People need to deep this....

This is honestly the most important hierarchical moment for any SH ever..... since it was declared by another SH.

Best believe no one below Vice Captain would be called β€œWings of the PK”. The person that will soar their Captain to becoming the King of the Pirates. Rejoice Sanji fans this is a big fucking W for us.

He still thinks Oda puts Sanji above Zoro.

so like any sensible person already concluded , Sanji and Zolo are at the same lvl and nothing changed in the entire 1000+ chapters of this manga
If this is true why doesnt Sanji have CoC

Why was Sanji also not on the roof?

If we're thinking logically you would think Sanji would have been on the roof and awakened CoC if that was the case

What's the evidence for that?

Because Zoro is the same man tackling Hakai and presumably the subsequent explosion even still permascarring Kaido afterwards. Also showing that astounding combat speed output against his Dragon form.

Sanji and Zolo have different roles in the story, it's simple as that

beside, this arc is supposed to focus on Zolo anyway

Oda made Kaido saga about Luffy and Zolo, and made Big Mom Saga about Luffy and Sanji, and considering the type of dynamic Kaido and BM have this should tell you all you need to know about how Sanji and Zolo compare to each other

Gotcha, so plot is why Sanji doesnt have CoC or wasnt on the roof, and yet plot is also why they are equal in strength.

WCI saga was literally based around Sanji and his best attack feat was either dodging a jellybean or kicking oven. Or feat in general Baking a cake for BM.

Wano Saga is not based around Zoro, Zoro is a bigger piece of the arc compared the SHs outside of Luffy, but yet Zoro has feats far Superior to what Sanji did from a strength and power perspective.

Based off this the readers are truly supposed to believe that they are extremely close or in some people's opinion equal in strength... that's CAP

So Paul acknowledges the implication of Zoro as one of the Wings, but he's saying that because in this particular scene the focus was more on Sanji, and because VIZ has to use certain terms exactly the same as they did in the past, such as in this case :

The King of Pirates

instead of simply Pirate King, he thought it's fine to say

The Wings of the King of Pirates

because

One of the Wings of the Kings of Pirates would have been too much of a mouthful.

He also briefly aplologizes to Zoro fans for not acomodating for him as one of the wings, but he'd have had to go over backward to do so for this moment, and he pretty much asumes that everyone realizes Zoro is the other guy as Zoro and Sanji are the two that do the heavy lifting beside Luffy.

Thanks @Kishido for sharing this, it was hilarious to hear Paul demolish the oposition on this matter :milaugh:

Do not worry. People will say this was no official podcast and ignore it in some weeks

And as you see. No matter what is said, we always have new arguments against SANJI AND THE M3

They even joke about how "if Sanji was The Wings he would fly Luffy instead of Momo", but it's not a literal thing and it doesn't refer just to Sanji :milaugh:

Next level argumet will be

"Stephen Paul doesn't know what he meant"

:smart:

So Zoro is also a taxi service
Post automatically merged:

Also 17 pages of getting btfo

So basically he decided to translate it as "wings" because:
A) Oda himself didn't belabored the point of "Sanji is one of the wings" as the context was specific to Sanji (which is the same thing that I'm repeating since the spoilers dropped)
B) "One of the wing of the King of Pirates" would be too long, so he decided to keep only "wings of the King of Pirates"

He also made the premise that theoretically both of them could work, but he chose "wings" mainly because of the reason A) and B)

Why are you acting like the only reason he decided to translate it as "wings" is the reason B), while Stephen Paul himself also said that it was also for the reason A) ?
