Katakuri is a side character. Luffy didn't go to WCI to beat him or learn FS. WCI was a side adventure. There were only there to rescue Sanji. Luffy didn't even bring his whole crew.

Yeah its weird there seems to be more Zoro v Sanji proxy wars then there is discussions on Luffys good showing against Kaido. Hell, some people are even trying to use Luffys good showing to somehow shit on Zoro. Its strange…
