This absurdly oversaturated animation with an overload of special effects and color, coupled with the caricatural appearance of the characters, stretched out through filler content, to display very simple and minimalistic manga scenes. I'm not watching the anime for that specific reason, but wonder

1) wtf is Toei doing and
2) why tf do people enjoy that bullcrap?

Imo they go all in with the auras, lasers and light show in order to not put further effort into actual coreography and animation.

By making it shiny and hard to grasp what's actually going on, you can omit the intricacies of animation in place of brighter colors and explosions.

And, as others mentioned, it's main audience is still kids. And they eat this stuff up.

Those weren't random frames, it was an entire sequence of King looking like a caricature. It's essentially like the Naruto filler episode of Tendo vs Kyuubi. People rightfully called this shit out and made fun of it.

It's alright, it's common for something in the animation of a 20-minute episode to not please you, that's nothing out of the ordinary. However, the animation also has its strong points at certain moments.

Tbf Oda is trash at drawing sword fights. His best work is still Zoro vs Ryuuma and even that was mediocre compared to other manga
