Character Discussion Luffy's D initial does not undermine his merits

#1

The flashback hints at what probably happened during the void century.
D may not have been a clan or family name but a moniker that Joyboy gave to his allies or his pirate crew.
These people were strong willed enough to stand up to the 20 kings / the world government in the making and imagined a world of equality and liberty.

Just like Ace made Sabo a D. in the flashback, any strong willed person that opposes the world government and fights for freedom has what it takes to be a D. It's the belief in one's dreams and the will to achieve them that gives one the quality of a D, the initial D alone does not give a person these qualities!

This chapter's revelation absolutely DESTROYS Luffy haters who downplay his merits on a regular basis and credit his achievements, willpower and strength to Luffy's supposed special ancestry.

Tl;dr:
Luffy does not belong to any ultra-special god lineage nor is his family responsible for Luffy's willpower and his achievements.
GODfy top one all day every day

Everybody who's strong in the world of one piece is blessed with great genetics.

However, what Luffy really benefits from is having Garp as the one who raised him. Every major arc Luffy overcomes his obstacles by out enduring things that would put down a normal person in his place. But due to what Garp put him through when he was like 5 years old, you have what you have. It is engrained into his soul to not stay down, as plotty as it may seem, it's justified by the story itself.

No one ever said Luffy was special because he was a D.

People says he is special because of his DF mainly and then because of Monkey family.

Being a D doesn't mean a shit. Ace was shit. Law is shit. Many D are shit.

The Nika fruit uses to be in Joyboy's possession and Joyboy did not manage to defeat the wg.

We don't know if the fruit has been undiscovered for 800 years or whether there have been other users.

The fact that thr fruit was nit known by its actual name and that it took Luffy years of tireless training and dedication to awaken its true power shows that eating the Nika fruit is not enough to become the next Joyboy. Luffy had to put work in

the reason it's name was not known is because the WG hid it's name because of how powerful it is

Yes and it took Luffy 20 some years to unlock it's real powers.
A lazy person without imagination and dedication couldn't even use the rubber like properties for fighting. Did you not read the ASL flashback where it is shown how much Luffy struggled, how he hit himself all the time because of the fruit powers?

Merit is a myth. Everything is genetical !
Elaborate or leave my thread :luffylaugh:
