Theory Luffy’s dream is..

#1
“These things cannot be stopped: Inherited will. People's dreams. The ebb and flow of the ages. As long as people seek the answer to freedom, these will never cease to be” - Gol D. Roger

Luffy wants to end the age of piracy and/or be the last pirate in the world and by that he will become the freest man of them all. To embody his dream fully, he needs to find One Piece -> officially be recognized as Pirate King and discourage other pirates to set sail -> defeat/destroy the opposition to freedom that makes people set sail, the government -> unify and reconstruct the infrastructure of the world entirely. This is semi backed up by the fact that Luffy states to his brothers that he wants to be something specific, before it was cut off - same thing with the last panel he shares his dream with his crew and everyone is shocked by his statement because apart from the freedom part, a pirate wanting to be the last one? Also, Usopp said that it can’t be done because it seems so far fetched that all the pirates would suddenly disappear or want to quit.

The manga starts off with Roger starting the age of piracy. How poetic would it be for the last chapter to end the age of piracy and Luffy realizing his dream?

To end this theory, the famous quote by Roger I started off with clearly states that as long as people seek the answer to freedom it will never cease to exist - Once the government gets abolished the censorship and disillusion the world of One Piece lives in will lift and will allow people to live freely

Sorry but that's, kindly said, sugar coated bs.
That's so idyllic and cliche even the actual system is more realistic. I hope one piece won't have such a shallow hollywood ending. I hope Oda does not flip his quite impressing consistency and foresight away to make the special snowflake Cinderellas happy :brootea:

Hmm how will Luffy make everyone else quit being a Pirate? It's a unique dream but can he convince everyone else to resign from Piracy?

Like i've stated above, by finding the One Piece and ending the current rein of the World Government and Celeistal Dragons, he will indirectly lead people to quit piracy and change their lives. This sounds so far fetched but that is why Luffy's dream is so inconciveable to the crew and everyone who hears it, One Piece started with the age of piracy and the last chapter will be the end of the age of piracy.
