Future Events The final war matchups will be very straightforward

A lot of people are out here getting very creative about what the final war matchups will be. However unfortunately, Oda has been very formulaic in how major war matchups are.

The formula is:

• SHs vs main villains
• allies vs secondary antagonists

We can see this in two of the most important post skip arcs, Dressrosa and Wano. In dressrosa, the main antagonists were the Donquixote pirates. They were defeated mostly by Luffy and the grand fleet, with the grand fleet subsequently pledging loyalty to Luffy and effectively joining the Straw Hat Pirates. Sabo on the other hand fought Fujitora, who was a secondary antagonist.

In wano, you have the Beast Pirates mostly being defeated by the SHs, with Orochi's gang and the Big Mom pirates being defeated by the Scabbards, Kid, Law, and Marco respectively.

No, Oda isn't going to sideline the SHs or the main antagonist for side characters or side antagonists. Many people made such theories in wano, I was one of those people. All those theories were proven wrong. Remember that shit people kept posting about Luffy vs Big Mom and Zoro vs Kaido? We saw how that shit turned out.

The main villains of the final war are undeniably the celestial dragons. They are the people who control the world, the enemies of the D, and the root of all problems in One Piece. Imu, the Gorosei, and the Holy Knights will be taken out by the SHs. Imu will be beaten by Luffy, the gorosei will be beaten by the strongest SHs, the holy knights will be beaten by the weaker SHs and the grand fleet captains. This is standard formula and we have zero reason to think Oda will deviate from it.

Everyone else will fight side villains. Side villains include:

• The Marines
• Cipher Pol
• nations allied to the celestial dragons
• The Seraphim
• any unknown WG forces or allies that Oda decides to introduce

Now occasionally you do have side characters that fight main antagonists. You had Kyros vs Diamante in Dressrosa and Inuarashi vs Jack in Wano. So I'm sure at least one of the Gorosei will be taken out by an ally. That ally is probably going to be Dragon, as he is the leader of the revolutionaries. Every other ally can only hope to 1v1 side villains.

Possibilities include:

• Sabo vs Akainu
• Fujitora vs GB
• Kid and Law vs Teenage/Adult Seraphim
• Revo commanders vs Cipher Pol

Those are just possibilities. Truthfully, the ally matchups are a bit harder to predict as Oda can do basically anything with them. But formula mandates that the SHs will defeat the main villains of the arc. That is: Imu, The Gorosei, and the Holy Knights.

Between Fuji and GB, Fuji is hardly even a villain.

Luffy vs Akainu will happen, but Luffy doesn’t need to be the guy who puts him down for good. By the time they face each other, Luffy will be much stronger than him.

Other than Luffy, Zoro and Sanji, the rest of the Straw Hats are too weak to handle the Gorosei, God Knights and the admirals. They're more suited to the side villains you listed. So, I predict Cross Guild, Revolutionary, Blackbeard and Swords will fight them since each have top tier crews with ACoC.

Its almost never been straightforward though since Punk Hazard. You have Law/Smoker taking on Vergo. You had Kyros fighting an Executive. You had Inu/Neko take on Kaido/BM executives, etc.

There will always be allies outside of the crew that will fight these enemues, save for maybe the direct war for One Piece. If the WG is the final enemy, then Kid, Law and Sabo probably will be right there to fight Gorosei with Zoro and Sanji

A mixture of the crew, RA commanders, Supernova and Fleet mebers will probably end up fighting God Knights, CP0 (not Lucci's group but others), Kong and whatever other subordinates exist.

It will be messy like most other things outside of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji

Greenbull is still open, but also clearly not main antagonist material.

Sakazuki is the only one with a valid point for himself here, but he's also not in the same ballpark as Imu or Blackbeard in terms of relevance. His role seems to be destined for either becoming Luffy's "warm-up villain" (would be disappointing for everyone) or Sabo's main opponent during the final war aka "magma man vs fire man reloaded" (much better and more climatic imho).

Allies get to beat like one main villain that they have a backstory with.

Law and Vergo
Kyros and Diamante
Inu and Jack

Doesn’t change the fact that it’s mostly SHs vs main villains.

If any ally is fighting a gorosei, it would be Dragon or Shanks, as they could have a backstory with them. But the SHs will beat most of the Gorosei and most of the holy knights.

Luffy will probably take out Saturn at some point. Dragon/Shanks will get one. Leaving the last 3 for Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe/Yamato.

There is no fucking way that Oda can write SH,SHGF,RA + other allies vs Marines,CP0,Gorosei,Seraphims,Holy Knights fighting together at the same arc.
You have to understand that these parties have more than 100 characters involved and it would take more than 40-50 chapters.

Most of them will go down before the final battle.
