Yeah but Yasheen then went on to say that his crew has rapists and necrophiliacs so that implied he only thinks his crew is lame because his crew is evil. That's why I pointed out that most pirates in this manga are bad. For example:
Kidd torturing and killing pirates who already surrendered and wanted to go home
Blackbeard trying to force transformed Bonney into becoming his concubine
Vasco Shot implying he wanted to rape and/or torture Boa Hancock
Catarina Devon saying she wanted to behead Boa Hancock and take the head for a trophy (it's also implied she beheads many beautiful women for that same reason)
Doflamingo being implied to have raped Viola
Bartolomeo cutting people's tongues off for no good reason and pissing in front of crowds for the lols (the latter is just public indecency which is really tame for a pirate, but still)
Big Mom threatening to behead Zeff and the other Baratie members, put the heads in boxes, and ship them to Sanji as a "present".
Kaido ranting about desiring to enslave women and children for his own personal gains and even trying to kill his own child.
And even the Straw Hats have done questionable things (mostly Nami and Sanji have).
Robin and Bon Kurei helped Crocodile kill how many people in Alabasta?
Two fan favorite characters.
Has anything Teach has done really been worse than Vegapunk making Child Clone Terminator Slaves to serve known Sex Trafficking Child Slavers?
Like, really: what has Teach done that's actually worse than Robin and Vegapunk's crimes against humanity? Beat up Ace? Kill Thatch?
Jinbe's like: "Yo, Vegapunk, that could be really dangerous."
Vegapunk's like: "Ain't no way I heard the Fish talking", VP didn't give the SLIGHTEST shit when Jinbe correctly warned him about the dangerous of creating the internet.
A lot of people hated Vegapunk for being that way, but I love that writing from Oda: many of the protagonists in One Piece have serious character flaws, and the narrative accepts that, and calls them out on it.
You look at Teach attacking Drum Kingdom: look at Lulusia. Vegapunk did that shit. That's on him, and he admitted it. Great writing.
The only truly moral characters in this series are rando citizens like Iceberg, some Royalty like Vivi and Riku, the Revs, and Fujitora (which is why I think Fuji's really a Rev).
Everybody else is borderline insane criminals fighting over power, and Oda makes that perfectly clear.
