Problem is, this isn’t just any general. YTW comes from a brutal society. She’s fought countless battles since she was a kid, chasing purpose and all the while keeping her eye on what was important - the whole of her people.

This is Hara opting for convenience at the expense of character and good writing. It’s not just lazy writing, it’s bad writing because it lacks coherence.

Eh, I'd say this goes in line with what was established about her character.

In both Eisei's rebelion and Battle of Ryoyou she used herself as bait even tho the risk of dying was huge. It's best to wait until we see full context before making judgements.
