Questions & Mysteries Mihawks never fight against Kaido because he doesn't want

#61
Three what?

Mihawk attacks old WB and gets stopped by Jozu, with WB smiling at him

Announces that he will not be merciful with his power and doesn't menage to kill pre TS Luffy, while trying

Gets stopped by Vista for a prolonged period of time, until asks for postponement

Gets stopped by Crocodile

Decides to go away when Shanks shows up

Does Mihawk look like someone that could go 1v1 against Kaido and win? :watchout:
Any yonko could one shot Crocodile in their sleep. Kaido has already proven he can one shot people on Vista level.

Oda is doing a terrible job with Mihawk

- Only fought a young Shanks
- Never tried to fight Whitebeard before MF
- Never fought Vista
- Never fought Kaido

Which top tier did he fight then to validate his title ?
he is not doing a terrible job

Mihawk never meant to be a big shot like others

people just overread his title ... he made a black sword and people called him WSS ... that's all

Agree with @Bogard. While Shanks pulled off many great things in a short period of time (clashing with WB on meds, stopping Kaido, stopping the war, having Kaido picture Shanks among Whitebeard, Roger and Xebec), Mihawk seemingly achieved nothing. Stopped by Jozu, stopped by Vista, no record of fighting other top dogs apart from Shanks in his youth.

Now Oda still likes to portray Mihawk in high regard outside of his feats. Many parallels with Shanks (even same birthday and panel time), telling Shanks he has nothing to talk about with an one armed men, etc. so it could really point to Mihawk just not being interested in fighting any swordsman who isn't at least = two armed Shanks. Though it also depends on how much Shanks grew. Whether Shanks grew stronger than Mihawk but Mihawk still disagrees to fight him because Shanks is a handicapped swordsman who amplifies his powers by fighting differently (focusing his attacks on internal destruction Haki or some sort of advanced CoC).

But Kaido himself (the strongest currently) daydreaming of Shanks' great power which he puts on the same pedestal as Roger, Whitebeard, Xebec and Oden (latter giving Kaido his life long trauma) forces Mihawk into delivering some serious feats. If same Jozu that stops Mihawk's attack, says it's hard to remain even conscious in front of that man (Shanks) with his crazy ambition, it doesn't reflect well on Mihawk.

Or it doesn't even need to be feats. All it takes is one credible character saying that Mihawk's power is of the same level as Shanks.

If Mihawk isn't Yonko Level then why Shanks didn't beat him & become Greatest Swordsman?
he fought a young Shanks ... not a Yonko Shanks who fought Yonko

after their duel Shanks rivaled Yonko , Mihawk went to live with monkeys

p.s
Shanks don't give a fuck about any title
and Mihawk is most likely "better swordsman"

Kaido called all of warlords ... weaklings
Kaido called Shanks among greatest he ever saw

and i tell you again why wb talked these battle when shanks was only rockie
Mihawk did a great job then ... sure ... that's why I'm calling him 5th strongest

but that was a young Shanks Vs young Mihawk

fighting Vs Young Shanks was GRETAEST thing that ever happened to Mihawk

Yonko Shanks is a different matter

If Mihawk had fought Kaido there'd be no Wano Arc

If WB went to avenge Oden there'd be no Wano Arc

If Sakazuki was the one charged of exexuting Kaido there'd be no Wano Arc

Kaido = all folklore hype no substance
keep telling that to yourself buddy

can anything tell me why wb was refered the shanks and mihawks fight when he talked than shanks is strong
cause that was a big event

fighting Vs Shanks is THE ONLY reason most people respect Mihawk when he have shitty feats

Mihawk having no desire to face swordsmen who aren't at least = Shanks is a valid argument.

But...the shadows Kaido saw coupled with Mihawk's feats (being stalled twice by commanders) which pale in comparison with Shanks' feats (clashing with WB on meds, fighting off Kaido and stopping the war on his terms) make it really hard to make a case for Mihawk. As @Bogard said, clinging on his title at this point is not enough, he has to squash a YC level character with the same ease as a Yonko would. He has to.
