The common thing between Apoo and Ceasar is having HAX ABILITIES. Luffy will always be disadvantaged against them at first, but then he will pull up and finish them off.

lEtHaL it was obviously a superficial attack, he didn't hit his vitals... Luffy's FS wouldn't have worked either way since he clearly was anything but calm (first angered by the henchmen wasting out the red bean porridge, plus taken aback by Apoo's ability)

Reread the spoilers please, Zoro got his chest slashed before that the explosion hit Luffy.

I know that I do have eyes, but Zoro wouldn't have sustained the damage from the explosion either.

To be fair I guess it's time to stop underestimating the supernovas, if Luffy is YC1+ level, it's only fair for some of the other supernovas to be YC3 minimum. Well I already had Zoro and Drake at YC3 level (with the obvious Law/Kid YC2 level), I think Apoo is definitely YC3 now.

Luffy didn't receive any slash attack, jesus! are you blind? Luffy received a punch and an explosion, the explosion is obviously more damaging than a superficial slash.
