ACoC was the game changer, its what proppeled Luffy from fodder to top tier. G5 while great and all is not enough to fight a top tier fully, he needs ACoC for the highly increased AP. So while not all ACoC attacks are equal, they are all potent enough to start damaging top tiers.

Kaido was blitzing G5 Luffy, other top tiers can tag him too. They dont need G5 to tag Kizaru whereas Luffy does. And since its on a timer its a bad matchup for Luffy rn.

Kizaru doesnt have a single bruise on him, Its likely the first ACoC attack taht hit him. No we see the attack land we dont see the aftermath.

I mean its the first ACoC attack that hit him id assume hes fine, Kaido ate hundreds of those so Kizaru should be ok.

It would take him a long time to beat a peer if he can beat him, meanwhile he risks VP escaping while he fights Luffy.

This has been the main issue yes, matchups matter. Kaido doesnt have a limited time form to fight Kizaru for example. He'll tag him, because he was tagging G5 Luffy as well.

Nobody believes Kizaru is defeated after one singular ACoC punch, it would be trash when Kaido ate hundreds of those.
