I was so hyped for this arc but I just want it to end at this point. Luffy's asspulls are getting out of control and the fake deaths are pissing me off. Kaido doesn't even feel as much of a threat as Katakuri did. It's fuckin stupid to have Luffy fighting Kaido in base form tanking Yonko attacks...
That's an aggressive powerup. At the same time though, he had Advanced Conqueror's on the roof and he got beat easily. So what changed between then and now for him to tank Ragnarok, Thunder Bagua, and a Meteor Shower (new stronger attack by the way, which makes it worse) back to back to back...
I don't know man, the chapter was great but I REALLY don't like the power scaling here. Luffy going toe to toe with Kaido right now in base form after getting massacred on the roof is a HUUUUGE reach. At least use Advanced Conquerors when you're in Snakeman form, that would be more believable...
Wano definitely doesn't feel as intense as Marineford that's for sure. Just asspulls, Oden spamming, and characters that should be dead still being alive. (Kinemon, Kiku) And we all know the island isnt crashing into the Flower Capital because Oda doesn't take those kinds of risks. The anime...
Nico Robin is my #1. Love everything about her vibe, maturity, significance to the story/history of the OP world, and character. She was at the center of the Enies Lobby story, which is my favorite arc in OP. Her Demon form is also pretty damn cool. I wish Oda would give her more panel time...
Luffy won by luck and circumstance. And the amount of damage that he took was laughable. I say that Zoro vs King is the best fight in the New World thus far even though it was short.
Its just asspull after asspull with Luffy. It's almost like I don't know who the main characters are anymore. There's no growth for them like there is the Scabbards or the Zou animals. Its amazing how King, one of the coolest characters in the history of the manga, got such short panel time...
The arc should have focused on Zoro's training, Nico Robin's significance to the overarching story given the history on Wano and the CPO, Kidd's backstory and character development, Kaido and his goals/character/backstory/wanting to die, poneglyphs, and bad-ass samurais with cool designs. The...
I would say so outside of Asura. What he used against King looked almost as strong as Asura honestly. That was definitely a high diff battle compared to Sanji/Queen which was more mid-diff.
I do agree that's a general rule of thumb for shonen, but I doubt it goes that way for OP. Kaido will probably go down via a team effort (hopefully), then Zoro can take what he learns from King to defeat Mihawk/Shiryu. If Kaido goes down via a team effort and Luffy defeats Akainu later down the...
How do you figure that? I can't really see Mihawk beating Shanks or Blackbeard 1v1. Or even Kaido. Mihawk backed down from a battle with Shanks at Marineford. Akainu almost died against a weakened Whitebeard. Fujitora couldn't/wouldn't stop Doflamingo's birdcage.
1. Zoro (he legit injured Kaido, Luffy hasn't yet)
2. Luffy (nice powerup on the roof but came outta nowhere)
3. Robin (I love her and she looked incredible against Black Maria, still being targeted by the Navy. Her bounty should be way higher given her significance to the story and what...
Luffy got pummeled on the roof AFTER a powerup. He then almost drowns and hasn't gotten another powerup in between that time and confronting Kaido again after the Yamato/Kaido fight. This will be Round 3 which is ALOT in the One Piece universe. Would you be happy with Luffy winning here? Or...
