It's possible yes but I think Luffy is too far ahead of him at the moment Luffy's real rival is Blackbeard Luffy will surely be the main element to beat Kaido kid no so if the fight is after Wano the fight will not be balanced- Mugiwara56

No that doesn't mean he was stronger than Luffy i think his level will be increased for script reasons if he hurts an emperor because even though he was in the new world for 2 years he didn't have to deal with a Katakuri or a Cracker or a Doflamingo.
