Yamato seemed always willing to leave Wano even if it would need reconstruction after Kaido is defeated, because I'd guess she'd trust Momo that much and could have enough relevance to journey all the way to Laugh Tale considering plot threads like Joy Boy.

Jinbe has definitely been an emotional guide to Luffy in parallel to Nami being a physical guide. Yamato could be the one to have his back more often while the others are busy.

Oh yeah, I think ogres have had links to being guardians/gatekeepers in mythology, so that might link her more to having a guardian sort of role in Luffy’s story in addition to the fruit guardian deity reference.
