We all saw how Ivankov, Dragon and Sabo were in theory mode this chapter and tried to make sense of that enormous shadow over Lulusia and the nuking that followed.
We also saw Imu calling the Gorosei telling them to "try out Vegapunk's invention - mother flame".
A lot of fans immediately...
Imu just casually calling the Gorosei and telling them to nuke the nearest island bc he wants to test his weapon - stonecold and so much meme potential.
*ring ring*
Gorosei: "Yes, Great Imu, what is your wish!"
Imu: "... gonna try Italian today and get me a coke zero, put on some pounds...
When you do a longer hiatus it takes off a lot of pressure.
If he doesn't take it, he has to do PR appearances etc. anyway - all while drawing the manga, too.
Now he can just relax a bit, do some other stuff, think a bit about the story and then come back fresh and motivated.
Btw that...
1 month break
YEEEEES!
I'm glad that Oda is finally doing what me and many others have hoped for a long time: Take some deserved time off and also create room for thinking about how to approach the story in the best way.
It's no coincidence that this last year has been the best OP year in...
You can say whatever you want about GRRM's work ethic, but if you really think Oda is "a better writer" than GRRM you can just as well run through the streets with a clown nose on.
Oda is writing a shonen story aka sth for teens.
GRRM wrote one of the best fictional series of all time, where...
Fujitora is an ally.
Kizaru will probably be dealt with in Egghead and therefore become a side villain in the final war.
Greenbull is still open, but also clearly not main antagonist material.
Sakazuki is the only one with a valid point for himself here, but he's also not in the same ballpark...
Spot on.
It's actually quite baffling that some fans are still so stubborn and refuse to accept it.
It has been obvious for years and after the current chapter even the last person in denial should've realized it ...
Imu is basically portrayed as some kind of omnipotent devil imho. Maybe due to his DF.
Both his ominous, shadow-like appearance and even his one attack so far ("devil's tail") are classic references to the devil. As is their way of addressing themselves as "Mu", which also means "void".
In a...
Crazy theory just came up in my mind:
We are always talking about those "silhouettes", but what if Imu and the Gorosei indeed transform into those demonic, shadow-like void creatures?
Both Sabo and Wapol talked about "seeing hell" and some of those "silhouettes" (especially the last one that...
The one that eats the fire attack is Imu.
You can see him/her transform right before it happens and that creature (which eats the fire) has Imu's "rinnegan eyes".
In all honesty - this might've been the most "fuck that shit, I'm getting out of here right now"-moment in manga history.
Dude didn't even turn around or take a turn, he just chanelled his inner Usain Bolt and ran away in a straight line, eating himself through walls in world record time...
Sigh, so many excuses.
I think it's much more likely that Akainu & Co. took a page out of their superiors' book of failures, bc let's be honest: The admirals' performance at marineford was one of the most pathetic things any supposed top tiers have delivered so far.
Well, didn't pre-skip Luffy appear in front of all three admirals and they weren't able to catch him?
Didn't Akainu have Luffy right in front of him - ready to kill him - and then got embarassed by Jinbei (who also took Akainu's magma attack and then got away btw)?
Can we have a moment of silence for Wapol please?
Dude had it all cozy ruling a nice winter wonderland when all of a sudden Blackbeard and his crew fucked him up.
He had to live a pirate life until he finally found his way back after months.
What happened when he returned to his kingdom...
If after this chapter there are still any people left that honestly believe anyone other than Imu/Gorosei will be the final villains ... no words.
:kayneshrug:
I'll be quite honest: I wouldn't be surprised one bit if in the end it's literally everyone (SHs + allies like Law etc. + marines) vs Imu/Gorosei/Holy Knights.
Again: An underling tries to insult the bosses and you expect them to not put him back in his place?
Not really realistic, my friend.
But whatever, I'm not going into that debate any further.
People can make up their own mind and thankfully you have posted that conversation.
Not really.
You just emphasized my point even more by posting that conversation.
It's a butthurt underling trying to talk smack to his bosses, who are pissed off ofc and actually make clear where his place is.
So thanks for clearing this up again.
