Chapter 95 would seem to indicate AM's OFA "embers are gone" (function) but AM does a quick transformation that then disappears in a later panel in the chapter. Under dire circumstances, a very brief combination (damage AFO then die) by AM would still be within reason and not be retconned.

He has enough of OFA (plus will) to last a quick stand to get Deku and Bakugo some time.
