It makes sense now why Kaido prepared himself this much to face Oden, with the spy, and the army. He already knew Oden's strength from an earlier encounter

It seems we can see a clash of conqueror between them to boot. At least we saw how Oden vs Base Kaido would look a bit without the distraction
