Oden was close to em, so he would have general idea where each of em would be. Plus WB crew wouldn't be so hard to find. Ino n Neko had been outside, they would be able to make the journey. It at the very least won't take 5 years, and was a sure shot move.

Oden was never right for Wano. First turns complete blind eye to Orochii ruining Wano for years and then after coming back, makes a deal with em for 5 years, again allowing the citizens to work in factories and many getting killed. Ofcrs people of Wano were indifferent to Oden getting captured...
