Straight up like read the narration. It hypes up this conflict as being this huge war and the players involved, then Oda decides to overshadow his characters with Gorosei anyway lol. I cant complain about getting designs from them or having them be a threat, but my god it feels like there should...

On one hand i agree that it could have been shorter but I wouldn't necessarily define it as filler. If it was just about VP i would absolutely agree it should have been Zou sized. But then he made it about Bonney, and Kuma, and Kizaru, and Saturn, and then 4 other Gorosei and then Joyboy lol...

One can only hope its because he's been trying to get to Elbaf or some future plotline quicker and he realized its taking him ages to get to these things, but idk anymore. If Elbaf doesnt address the 4th RP, Marines or a Yonko, then Im afraid it could just be another oddly paced arc. Too long...

Still cant get over how fuckin weird this arc was. It answers and accomplishes a lot but for literally no one to lose appropriately and have their character resolution in a 64 chapter arc is just the weirdest thing Oda has done by far in this series.

Definitely not within 2-3 arcs to where Admirals are fought though. She can be however strong she wants in the EoS. I dont agree that she should be taking down Admirals at 12. Everytime a Gorosei was hit by her, a Strawhat was also hitting that Gorosei.

Yeaaaahh i dont agree with that lol. For all we know Kizaru could be a fight for Blackbeard if the Marines face off against the Yonko (even if Zoro and Sanji still fight Admirals). The idea of a 12 year old actually beating an Admiral lol...

Yeah, Id say the difference between Wano and Elbaf is that Wano was a culmination of a 10 year storyline, which already invovled like 30 different characters before the arc started. Elbaf is only part of something that started 2 years ago, so there isnt much baggage required from the get go.

They have a Yakuza/Italian Mob motif, so yeah it makes sense.

Im definitely skeptical at least on pacing and fights but Im hoping Elbaf does as much for plot movement and story that Egghead did.

Yep, we spent a portion of a flashback there and the island was shown to be not that special. And we'll also get another flashback there when we see more Rocks and possibly Shanks' origin. Edit: Unless you mean as an island we are meant to go to, cause IMO Kuma's FB removed that idea.

I think these (Inu and Roger) are very clear teases of engaging the reader on wanting to see the island. Anyway, Im really not sure why people have a hate boner for Lodestar lol. Even certain people were denying Elbaf for years until became fact that we were going there.

You can bet but Oda, not once in this story, has skipped a teased island that he hides from the reader. Elbaf, Lodestar and Laugh Tale are the exact 3 islands he consistently referenced prior in this story (things like Impel Down, Marineford, Fishman Island and Wano were also similarly teased...
