pretty sure it will affect a swordsman if he lost his hand , theres a reason why it was said a sacrifice and mihawk made fun of it

but that wasnt a disadvantage to roger in any way as he wasnt a devil fruit user from the start but shanks losing his hand was a disadvantage to him .
