Dude, what part of you don't get that Auger will be perfectly visible once he teleports to Luffy? To marines, Luffy disappeared in front of them. If it was Auger, they would see his ass.

None of them can move fast enough for marines to not see and to look as if Luffy just disappeared. 1. Van auger has to teleport and then touch Luffy, which marines would see 2. Van auger also has to know about food machine, which is basically impossible because he's first time in Egghead 3...
