I would like that but I'm ok with Zoro fighting Mihawk after a solid growth since he is the better man and also the one portrayed as Zoro's end goal for a reason. After all why would Zoro indicate Mihawk as his goal and not Shanks had Shanks been the stronger man lol.

Well we know that Mihawk was introduced as WSS whilst Shanks was a yonko so we can't logically believe anything different than he still is WSS in that no sensitive change was noticed in this temporal arc. Just like we can't assume title referred to the past.
