Respect is clearly already there, but competition too. During all Udon and the naval battle they have been salty at each other. Luffy never saw other SN as rivals, neither Law. I can put my balls on fire right now that after the war Kidd Pirates will be the only crew to still rapresent a danger...

There is a substancial difference tho: Kidd and Killer are the only SN who decided to not join hands with Luffy. They are there for their onw reasons, not to help the Strawhats
