This was Marco's condition just slightly prior to Queen going off and messing with Chopper for 20 minutes.
As per Perspero, Marco was already looking pretty exhausted, and that is backed by Marco's statement that holding off two people over a billion berries is pretty tough.
So even going...
So...
We just completely ignore Queen and Perospero's involvement in the whole thing, and the fact that Marco was using his healing ability on the people of the live floor the entire time?
Nah man. Marco was locked in a 2 v 1 through the better part of this war against two Yonko Commanders. 3 v 1 if you count Perospero. There is no way to reach any kind of conclusion as to where King stands in terms of a 1 v 1 against Marco.
Oh, I knew it was coming. I was just expecting it to happen once Zoro and King started to fight seriously, and Zoro was struggling. Then the "Kaido>=King" posts would come flooding in. But looks like the damage control came earlier than expected. Honestly not shocked in the slightest though...

And Luffy had already mastered the...
You said it's more realistic that Zoro is that strong than Luffy because of Zoro's training ethic, but Luffy trained his entire childhood up until he set sail to be a pirate.
Luffy trained until he was 17, and set sail to be a pirate.
The entire first half of One Piece lasted less than a year, in which it ended with Luffy putting everything on hold in order to.... Train more.
Sure, Zoro trained often in that timespan, whereas Luffy worked on developing his Devil...
