There’s indications that ancient zoans are actually strongest (at least physically) in their full transformations. Hybrids being stronger is straight up just fan headcanon and has never been confirmed in story or in any data book or SBS.

Oda literally said he uses the wiki and the games to find attacks when the big fights start. We also just saw Drake use Excalibur, an attack he only ever had in the games. So if there’s nothing in canon that explicitly says he’s a swordsman, and in the games he uses a gun.......

If Oda trusts the guy enough to let him remake his series for a western audience, then I would say his opinion definitely holds some weight.

Shank’s main combo in the games is grabbing his gun while alternating between sword slashes. The writer of the One Piece TV show literally spoke with Oda, came on the friggin YouTube Reverie, and said Shanks > Mihawk.

Also Mihawk isn’t even stronger than most admirals imo, and Shanks (going off of the games which apparently Oda is using techniques from) is not a swordsman.

Thats haki but not the advanced level that bypasses durability. Do we actually have evidence that that specific level can be infused in an air slash?
