In a way I would have loved to see more of Ouki. Not that this should have happened, I think Hara did a perfect job with how he wrote the character as well as his exit from the story, linked to the simultaneous introduction of the manga's main antagonist up to this day. That arc is goated.
But...
Hara's panels of Kouyoku where he depicts him in the "white eyes" fashion (that we see so often in Kingdom) are🔥. The artwork has him look like a next level savage.
They were still bitter over what Chousha's right hand man (Rinkaryuu of Chousha's Fiftheen Ravagers) once said:
"My magnificent lord Chousha carries Zhao, greenhorns Hobopa and Linshoujo can't hope to compete. Seethe and cope:suresure:"
They are fine on the whole. Jyoukaryuu and Jiaga had good clashes/fights, as duelists they proved their worth. Gakushou maybe I like more and he's still alive so he could potentially do more noteworthy stuff going forward. As for Kansaro, I was and am more hyped given his portrayal of being...
I ended up rereading that whole same chapter (541) which @SakazOuki had asked for, and man what a great one.
And this page goes hard, such amazing art.
Nah but for real Kouyoku as a duelist is really fucking impressive. He kept up with Tou for a long time as far back as the time of the Coalition. Current Kouyoku must be capable of beating a shit ton of people we've seen.
We haven't seen anything from him as a General (compared to the Qin trio)...
Looking forward to learn on Shouheikun's past.
He has been the Chief of Qin's military from literally day 1 of the manga. Above the position of Great General, which was seemingly never even held by him. He has always been regarded as being on the apex of China's military from friends and foes...
Comparing elites is hard. We have a few statements that compare some of them, like Ouki stating that Duke's elites are even slightly stronger than his and SSK saying that Karin's elites were either #1 or #2 in the entire Chu military. But we don't have many of those.
Shouheikun's manimals look...
It was amazing. The crazy thing is that Shin had been in Ouki's presence before and yet Ryofui's one completely dwarfed it (as well as dwarfing the presences of Ryofui's retainers as well, like Shouheikun, Moubu etc.). Shin was so freaking terrified by how gigantic it was that he could not even...
