    Being seperate from the source material doesn't necessarily make something a bad adaptation. I actually think Trigun is a pretty solid adaptation, even though it is massively different.

    Having objectively better compositing, better animation, and better directing and storyboarding is definitely a massive improvement over prior arcs.     The Trigun anime is good as its own thing, but that's very much as its own thing. Its barely even an adaptation of the manga for the most part. I would love to see the manga for Trigun/Trigun MAXIMUM get adapted some day, but currently, the likelihood of that happening in the near future is low.
