That's not what is beeing said though. Every person, Paul included in the podcast, narrows it down to Zoro and Sanji.
Using the fact that Zoro and Sanji are "the Pirate Kings Wings" to say that Sanji = Zoro is absolutely bullshit.
Trying so hard to discard this entirely with claims such as...
At this point ignore the trolls.
Stephen himself acknowledged and said that everyone would think of Zoro and Sanji in this context. He explains the restrictions of VIZ with certain terms and how for the english translation it would have been more awkward to say "One of the Wings of the King of...
Part that, and the main point he talks about first is how it's awkward in English to try to deliver it with those implication, in a phrase where he's already required to elongate "Pirate King" to "The King of the Pirates" because that's how VIZ always writes it.
That's why the fan translation...
There's more than your A and B that Paul talked about and i did in fact talk about all of it in my post
So Paul basically says the following :
- Zoro and Sanji are Luffy's Wings
- Because in this particular moment Sanji was the one focused on and it would have required more convoluted...
They even joke about how "if Sanji was The Wings he would fly Luffy instead of Momo", but it's not a literal thing and it doesn't refer just to Sanji :milaugh:
Next level argumet will be
"Stephen Paul doesn't know what he meant"
:smart:
So Paul acknowledges the implication of Zoro as one of the Wings, but he's saying that because in this particular scene the focus was more on Sanji, and because VIZ has to use certain terms exactly the same as they did in the past, such as in this case :
The King of Pirates
instead of simply...
Sanji follows along with anything Robin says as well so that doesn't say much :milaugh:
Also Sanji made the decision that they should save Kinemon if we're talking about that particular group being together, which everyone including Nami opposed but Sanji overuled. Now that's a significant...
Luffy's top subordinates. The one's who he lets in charge of parts of the crew and make the significant decisions in Luffy's absence.
Such as Sanji deciding to attack BM's ship, or acting as the leader when Capone made his appearance in Zou.
The one's that Luffy trusts to leave in charge of...
Exactly. That was not about the SH's crew's structure, it was Oda showing the first three SH's that were introduced in the story when celebrating the story reaching this point.
The SH crew is showcased in the three Volumes spread, with Luffy, Zoro and Sanji in their place, and Nami in hers...
With a cute cover that's a callback to the first volume cover with the three when they were the only SH's introduced.
Then we got the 3 whole Volumes spread with all the crew and Oda put Luffy, Zoro and Sanji in their place, and Nami in her place :myman:
100 Volumes have more than 1000 chapters. 100 Volumes win :myman:
Also she's shoved aside when the whole crew is displayed in those covers to show her place bellow Luffy, Zoro and Sanji :jordanmf:
Well this is a thing as well, and it's why Nami get's most panel time after Luffy.
It's just that doesn't translate into her getting to be one of Luffy's top two crewmates :kayneshrug:
So what you're saying is that Zoro and Sanji were right and Nami was wrong, and that she knew to shut up when faced with Luffy's top men both being in agreement :quest:
Nami was desperate to go after Sanji cuz she missed her temporary captain :myman:
The drawing is just a callback to the begining of the story :milaugh:
The triple cover spread with the whole crew shows us the significance within the crew and who get's to stand with Luffy on the V100 cover
:myman:
