It always was, Oda does that when he off panels the important fights, it's a way of hyping it and the fighters and show how close they were. But a battle of 10 days with straw hats vs another group will never happen.

It's not that I don't want to hear it. The narrative just isn't pushing for a Kidd vs Luffy further in the story. He just doesn't have the men. He himself is very underwhelming compared to Luffy. We saw how Zoro vs Killer played out, and Zoro is even stronger now and has better growth than him...
