It just hasn't been brought up yet. It was only mentioned in the early 900's. Also pretty convinced Oda doesn't forget plotlines considering what he's had brought back in the past. Hell, he referenced Shiki again after 400 chapters and he's not even a character we've seen outside of Chapter 0...

Not sure here tbh. Potentially after arc but I'm curious to see how those characters and the Impel Down escapees factor into the remaining plot. These are concepts Oda hasnt fully addressed.

One Piece has affect Oda's health for years. Around DR, he got pretty sick and was out for a month nearly. After this point, Jump gives Oda a break every 3-5 chapters, to allow him to stay healthier. You DON'T want OP to become HxH, it will never finish.

I'd say, yes. Its what allows him to make the "bouncy yet hard" properties of his body in the form. There's no way he can retract his appendages into himself without Haki. CoA is a staple of the form.
