Sure, but it's not like Zoro even once considered himself as a pirate hunter. Plus, it's a nickname he got from his accomplishments when he was hunting for bounties back then. But now that he is a pirate, it would be better to give him a new nickname inspired by his pirate feats.

When ? In Whiskey Peak ? It was Luffy who wanted to kill Zoro. Zoro was actually trying to talk things out before taking it as a challenge to find out who's the strongest between them. So the hypocrite is you here ...

He was about to let himself killed alone to "protect" SH crew and Baratie without asking help from Luffy first although Luffy always saved successfully Nami and Robin in those situations (and Sanji was already in the crew to witness all of this).
