Dune 2 Visual spectacle at times but nothing more

Fincher is very dependent on the qualify of the source material, but regardless, to call him average is a bit exaggerated. He has a distinctive style that can work with some stories, with some it does not fit as much. (Re)watched a few movies recently: Donnie Darko: I can see why it´s a cult...

For me it´s on an individual basis. If the story is narrative-driven then having an appropriate length is more important than something that is world- or character-driven since for the latter, having more to see is of the world/character probably adds to it. On the other hand scenes not adding...

So you think the length is justified? Watched May December, difficult subject matter that was depicted without sensationalism, and the two "messages" of the film definitely are impactful. Portman´s acting top notch. Soundtrack was awful, I think I can surmise what the director was going for...
