    No but Kaku isn’t Lucci? Lucci was literally constantly hailed as a fighting genius and when he and luffy fought, lucci was basically dead even to pre timeskip luffy. Him training for two years and awakening his devil fruit allowed him to come out of the timeskip much stronger than luffy...

    Yeah wano explained it so poorly but, Luffys awakening was seemingly caused by the dreams of the people of wano. Many of them sent these dreams of a life without Kaido, of a life of freedom into the sky. I guess they reached Luffy which caused the Sun God Nika to awaken.
