Yeah, IIRC Pterosaurs evolved 200+ million years ago. The earliest transitionary birds were 150 million years ago and we don't have true birds (as in Aves, the group) until about 100 million years ago. They're like third cousins.

Pteranodon aren't birds, seeing as pterosaurs diverged from a common lineage with dinosaurs before true dinosaurs first showed up.
