Btw do we know if the first thunder bagua against Luffy actually made contact?
I know it's shown in the anime but it could be that part of why Luffy originally perceived the attack to be so fast is because it hit him way before making contact and had even less time to react.
That's just a visual effect. If the attack was a projectile/energy then why do the "branches" seem to happen behind Zoro despite the attack originating from that direction?
Not really. Kaido clearly ends up behind Law and Zoro after the attack so it's not just the shockwave.
Seems very similar to the first Thunder Bagua we saw, where he moved so fast it looked like he basically teleported, which seems to be what the white lightning effect is trying to convey.
I think the idea is more that King could also be hiding some kind of secret embarrassing part of his character, much like how Katakuri had his merienda moment. Queen did call him a torture loving pervert so...
Part of me wants to stop reading early spoilers, they usually end up pretty reactionary and leave out important details.
Turns out this chapter doesn't completely strip BM of her agency like i first thought.
They've had 2 moments like that in this arc.
Zoro had a big lack of good personality moments after the time skip, but their reunion in Kuri and that moment earlier when they were planning their victory party on the sunny were great.
