Because it will bring more chaos and/or uncertainty:
-Alliance is about to win, LL comes and changes the direction of the wind.
-Marines got involved, things look dire for pirates, LL comes and brings balance.
-LL comes, CP0 & Sword inform their superiors, marines comes 3-4 way battle starts...
I also like the change in Kid. Because of his previous experience, he was strongly opposed to alliances and now it looks like he is having the most fun from being part of the alliance. Otherwise he would argue with Luffy about fighting Kaido. Looking forward to developments on Kid's part.
I...
I also doubt that both will join. However, if one of them joins, being the only child in the crew may make them feel lonely. Spending time with a peer is usually more fun for children as in the case of Shanks and Buggy.
I also agree that Luffy needs something more to defeat Kaido and fight will get desperate too. My point was, blooming of the haki at desperate times has already happened. I don't expect another haki upgrade, at least for this arc.
To continue, we should agree on what physical strength defines.
Kaido is much faster and agile than Luffy. Also his scales, tough zoan body and regeneration makes his defence much better than Luffy.
If strength defines punching someone and make them fly, hold someone in its place, endure...
We don't have power level goggles of DragonBall so I can only evaluate their strength by what I see. It looks like he can match his strength but we will see in the following chapters if that holds.
I think Luffy has enough strength to fight with him. Luffy's previous fights showed us what he lacks was stamina, rather than strength. What makes Kaido invincible(?) on 1 vs 1 is his impregnable defence, endurance and speed.
So as I mentioned in the spoiler thread. If things goes like this...
Luffy's problem was, he was seeing what Kaido would do but neither could he dodge nor block his attacks. Now with the ACoC, he can block the attacks and use the future sight effectively.
