why would they split the sky their clash was vertically not horizontally , the haki direction was not up-down. it is different from the sky-splitting haki clashes

At the end Luffy won the haki clash. thanks to a combination of ryuo and CoC. that giant dragon was equal to the giant fist but Luffy's haki surpassed Kaido's.

nope for this case his Dragon form was the best form , since only that way he could have coated himself with that magma fire + haki and at the end it was not enough Luffy's ryuo was better. Kaido's hybrid would have done nothing. no matter what he would not have resist such force.
