Lets talk about if BB is scared of death or not.
Only argument that the haters has that confrontation with WB before WB dies at the hands of BB.
I will explain why Oda did this for 2 reasons:
A-) BB was going to neg WB's ass and then play with WB's corpse before Oda doing that, Oda wanted to give a compensation to WB fans and BB haters. Otherwise based on that argument Luffy also has shown fear of death while fighting Katakuri:
Luffy: ''Stop it!! aaahh!!''
Or Vs. Garp is more similar because BB also had family relationship with WB:
B-) Blackbeard simply tries trick WB for the last time as if he is his son since WB always had a soft spot for his family (as seen from Squardo) and BB knew this, but WB doesn't see BB as his family anymore so Oda also wanted to show people that WB doesn't consider BB as his family anymore, and there was no otherway to show that to people without BB trying to trick WB with that.
Lets see if BB has fear of death:
1- Even Base BB wasn't scared of CoC user Shanks (confimed it happened when Shanks was the captain of Red hair pirates) when BB doesn't even have any DF power vs. Shanks.
2- Then BB kills 4th commander Thatch despite knowing what would happen to people who hurts WB's family. (Remember Buggy was scared to capture a sleeping Ace on his ship).
3- After being a Shichibukai, this time he attacks a government facility, betrays the government too, goes to Impel Down and faces with Magellan and Shiryu with no fear. He easily throws away his Shichibukai protection (remember how important that Shichibukai protection was for Doflamingo).
4- After getting poisoned by Magellan, once again he shows no fear of death, and after Shiryu arrives BB tells Shiryu that people who scared of death are losers.

5- BB then goes to Level 6, (or before that they nearly kill Magellan and put him to coma without BB having a second DF power) then BB accepts the scariest and the most dangerous Level 6 criminals in his crew, when he has only 1 DF power at the time and becomes their captain.
6- Then BB goes to Marineford again, another government facility, with 1 DF and tells Fleet Admiral, all Admirals and all Marines that he is no longer a Shichibukai, imagine Doflamingo doing the same, Doflamingo did everything to keep his Shichibukai title safe, let alone telling Admirals that he is quitting being Shichibukai in front of all Marine forces.
7- He then kills WB, and then he tries to steal the second DF power, remember how scared Jabra was when he mentioned the possibility of trying to eat second DF power, its known that it kills anyone via explosion in their body, BB wasn't scared of dying like this, and he takes the risks again.
8- Then again after Fleet Admirals attack, BB wasn't scared of CoC user Fleet Admiral Sengoku + Hero Garp combined, BB damages them, and he kept sending Tsunamis to Sabaody Island from Marineford, even when half of all Marine forces were helping Sengoku and Garp.
If BB was scared of death he either is a retard don't know the risks while doing all of these things, or he clearly knows the risks, but he is still doing it anyways and shows no fear of death.
