FIRST FIGHT

Darth Sidious
Introduction :

Sheev Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious or simply as The Emperor, is a Dark Lord of the Sith and the main antagonist of the Star Wars universe.

He is widely known for his masterpiece 40 years long plan that leading him to :

-destroy the republic
-destroy the Jedi’s order
-become the emperor of the galaxy
-turn the Jedi’s chosen one in one of the strongest Sith Lord and most dangerous Jedi’s killer in history

And he did all that while concealing his true identity and his enormous proefficient mastery of the Dark Side to powerful Jedi’s masters like Yoda or Mace Windu even tho he met them regularly.

I like him because the sheeer determination, focus, intelligence and malice that you have to display to do something like this is insane :shame::shame:

VS

Blackbeard OP

Wealth, Fame, Power. There’s a handful of people throughout the story of One Piece that were able to achieve all three while reaching the pinnacle of Piracy. Marshall D. Teech, otherwise known as Blackbeard is the man who achieved the most in an era of accelerated and turbulent change. This villain is an Enigma, we know nothing of him except for his successes. He was Whitebeard’s shadow that lingered for 20 years, amassing strength and attacking in Whitebeard’s blind spot. Throughout this exchange he inadvertently orchestrated the Paramount War by handing the infamous Gol D. Rogers son; Portgaz D. Ace (Bounty:
550M) after defeating him to the WG. The rewards he reaped on his stay with the Whitebeard Pirates included acquiring the Yami Yami no Mi, the most dangerous Logia Fruit, and the position of Warlord of the Seas. He then uses his position to infiltrate Impel Down and acquire histories Worst Criminals under his banner, people each worth over 100M in bounty, as well as Shiryu of the Rain, a dangerous and bloodthirsty Warden. And immediately after so, not only does he kill Whitebeard, the unrivaled King of the Seas, former Yonko, and World’s Strongest Man; he also steals his Devil Fruit, thus being the first man in history to claim 2 Devil Fruit powers, the strongest Logia and strongest Paramecia. As we progress to the New World after the Time Skip, we hear that he has rapidly usurped the Position of Yonko by taking over Whitebeard’s territory and eviscerating the Former Whitebeard Pirate’s and in the process earning a bounty of
2,247,600,000; the largest bounty increase known to One Piece. And after achieving such a title, only rivaling three other Emperors and the Admirals, Teech proceeds to hunt after Devil Fruit users to form a real Devil Fruit Militia. The greatest trait about Teech is his ability to leave everything in the hands of fate, whether he achieves or not and his unique connection to embers of history that have been extinguished by force. His ties to Rocks D. Xebec, his cataclysmic moves that shake the world physically and metaphorically, and his direct parallels to the main character Monkey D. Luffy are world-shaking. When this man makes a move, he Succeeds. Everything Teech stands for, Luffy seems to oppose, yet they embody the same free-spirited, freedom loving attitudes. Teech is a dangerous man, the Most Dangerous Threat to the World Government and Luffy. Marshall D. Teech’s chaos, ambition, and achievement’s are what I find the most captivating as a Villain.

SECOND FIGHT

Baldur from God of War 4
Baldur is the antagonist in God of War 4, he is from the norse mythology "Baldr" as the god of light, joy and purity ( Ironically in the game he is the complete opposite of that ).
He was sent and manipulated by his father Odin to kill Kratos, as Odin lied to him and told him that following Kratos to jotunhiem will cure him from his curse.

I found Baldur interesting as a villian because he actually had a cause and a reason to his actions, not your typical evil dude. His mother Freya gave him a curse that protects him from any harm. Even though her intentions were good, she made him without feelings, he felt no pain, no love and no sympathy.
That is why we see him go through such lengths just to have his revenge on his mother, and even tries to kill her after she saved his life from Kratos.

VS

Loki - MCU
Loki is the God of Mischief a master of magic and deceit. He is a Frost Giant, but was adopted by Odin and raised as the Prince of Asgard alongside Thor, his adoptive brother. Loki was ambitious and wanted to step out of Thor's shadows by becoming King of Asgard.

However, Thor was crowned king. Enraged with jealousy, Loki sabotages the ceremony and manipulates Thor causing him to be exiled from Asgard. It was also then that Loki found out he was not Odin's biological son and he realized that everything he worked for when he was younger was all in vain. Odin would always favour Thor.

This lead Loki to resent Odin and Thor and when Thor returned to Asgard to reclaim the throne, Loki fought him but ultimately lost. Deciding that he no longer wanted to be on Asgard anymore, Loki allowed himself to fall off the Bifrost and into a wormhole.

Loki as a character is charismatic, fun, mysterious and he singlehandedly carried Thor 2.

THIRD FIGHT

Gild Tesoro from Film Gold
Gild Tesoro also known as the Casino King is the richest man alive, owning 1/3rd of the gold supply on Earth while also being the owner of the largest ship in the world that also serves as a city of entertainment that’s recognize as a independent state by the WG. He has an insane god complex and truly believes money rules over everything.

Tesoro started as an impoverished troubled youth who ended up as a slave to the celestial dragons before escaping and doing a complete 180 from rags to riches even butting heads with the warlord Doflamingo on his climb to success. I like him because he is the best dressed character in OP, hax usage of his devil fruit that would ordinarily be average in hands of anyone else, and he is basically another Eneru, thinking himself a god

VS

Azula from Avatar
Character
: Azula

From: Avatar The Last Airbender (Animated Series that primered on Nickleodeon in the late 2000s to early 2010s/ Lowkey could pass as an anime tbh...has all the markers of one just without some of the tropes common with anime coming out of Japan.)

A Very Brief Synopsis on Who Azula was:
Azula was the princess of the Fire Nation who served as the primary antagonistic force in the Series. She was the daughter of the Fire Nation’s leader; Ozai and was the younger sister of the Prince Zuko who later defected. Her personality in brief words: sadistic, manipulative, strategic, cunning, ruthless and ambitious. Throw all of that in a blender and you got the most enjoyable villian of the series by a mile. Azula’s personality dominated the screen whenever she was present and practically carried the antagonistic side against the main cast. While these characteristics are the markings of a cold, caculated perfectionist...she was instead forced to put that up as a mask to harbor her biggest instability: fear of rejection. You see Azula’s upbringing as a child basically made her turn into what she eventually became and in her eventual fall that instability is brought up to the surface. Put in order to understand this, I would have to talk about her upbringing briefly and how both her parents shaped her personality.

As previously said Azula was born into royalty. She had a mother called Ursa who was compassionate and caring. Her father was the complete opposite, cruel, and looking to conquer the rest of the world whether they liked it or not and he shot down anyone who opposed. Because of this he basically saw Zuko and Azula as essentially war tools to be taken advantage of to use for his end goal. They were both born firebenders like him so his expectations were naturally very high for them to play a big role in this world takeover he had planned. From the get go it was established in the flashback that Zuko was closer to his mother and subsequently Azula was closer to her father. This was the result of Ozai favoring Azula over Zuko because of the vast difference in talent and power when it came to firebending. As a result Zuko was practically neglected by Ozai for most of his childhood so Ursa always cared for him more. Azula became jealous of this and because she was already so close to her father, some of his negative traits rubbed off on her even as a child. She viewed Ozai as the only person who acknowledged her and her mother Ursa scolded many times for being unnecessarily cruel. Perhaps the best example was when Iroh(Ozai’s brother who was the Fire Nation ruler at the time) found himself in a potentially deadly situation in battle. Zuko and Ursa reacted how any of us would, Azula on the otherhand was already elated about how he would be replaced by her father. This was the ambitious nature of Azula just a child.

In short the reason why she became such a sadistic and cruel person was because of the expectations set of being a perfect child to her father; who was just as cruel and longed for world domination. Zuko couldn’t meet these overbearing expectations, he was neglected and Ursa cared for him more. Her perception of Ursa and what she thought she lacked; her mother’s love is when Azula’s instability is born. Azula always thought her mother feared her and took that as rejection. As a result Azula basically tries to discard part of what makes us human; empathy and used fear to manipulate others for personal gain. This fires back at her and contributes towards her eventual fall when her closest friends leave her.

What’s really amazing to me about this is that even though Azula only respected her father and wanted to meet his favor, when it became evident that she was only a means to an end she basically unraveled. It really shows that even an almost perfect prodigy like Azula still was a human deep down and had actual insecurties/vulnerabilities.

This couldn’t be more evident in this scene:

I could go on but I feel like this is enough lol, Azula has a deep psychological make up...so deep you find numerous articles and videos on Youtube doing rounds on and from different angles. To me what makes her a damn good villian was how well written her story was and she wasn’t just a cold and calculative perfectionist just because the plot called for it, not even close. It was the result of her complicated upbringing and her father’s cut throat expectations that turned her into a monster but when she realized that she basically traded in her empathy for it was too late. So basically in conclusion what I like about Azula is that despite the fact that she had these quality characertistics that made her an awesome and enjoyable villian had behind it she had a complicated past and a lost touch of what makes part of one human. The writers portrayed and executed this in excellent fashion througout the series and anyone who hasn’t seen ATLA would just have to watch it to see what I’m talking about.

Briefly going through the remaining category;

Achievements: As you may already have picked up...she was a prodigy in firebending and vastly better than her brother Zuko. As Ozai put it; Azula was “born lucky” and Zuko was “lucky that he was born”. While that was harsh af lmao you couldn’t really argue Zuko was close to Azula in terms of sheer talent. She was one of few who also achieved mastery of lightning bending, a technique that was only acessible with the complete mastery of firebending. She naturally had many feats in the show, almost killed the MC (Aang) at one point and outclassed Zuko many times. Perhaps my favorite scene that emphasized the raw difference between the two was in this fight;
Tho admittedly very early in the series, you can see how she doesn’t even bother to use firebending and trash talks Zuko (to throw him off his game, that’s her strategic and manipulative nature on full display right there) throughout the entire way, only until he’s pretty much down for the count is when she goes for the knockout using lightning bending.

And I guess I can stop here lol. Could definitely say and show more but hopefully this ain’t too long. A few sentences just wouldn’t do this character justice.

FORTH FIGHT

Sauron from LoTR
Prior to his fall, Sauron existed as a semi-divine being known as one of the Ainur. He specifically practiced the art of smithing and craftsmanship, having a deep love of order and creation coupled with an admiration for singular power. These principle traits would ultimately lead to Sauron's downfall as he betrayed his kin of Ainur to join hands with another of their kind, Morgoth, who forsook their creator and sought to usher in his own world as a singular god.

In these early days of Middle Earth, Sauron was the chief lieutenant of Morgoth, becoming known as the father of all manner of horrid creatures such as werewolves and vampires. Throughout uncountable years of conflict, Morgoth was vanquished and Sauron left on his own to pick up the ruined works of his master.

In the Second Age of Middle Earth, Sauron would announce himself to the many Elven lands as Annatar the Lord of Gifts. A deceiver by nature, as opposed to his martially minded master, Sauron used the powerful elves to his own advantage in forging nearly all of the Rings of power.

Unlike Morgoth, who wished for utter destruction before creating a world in his image, Sauron had humbler goals. The Dark Lord would command the populace of Middle Earth and rule as a God-King as he put order onto a continent he perceived as renegade in those regards.

However, Sauron's greatest act of deceit would come with the downfall of Numenor. An Island nation of man far greater than all other kingdoms of man, Numenoreans were devout followers of the Ainur and sent a powerful army to collect Sauron. Surrendering, Sauron allowed himself to be captured and slowly poisoned the minds of those around him with wicked words. Not before long, he convinced the King of the Numenoreans to wage a cataclysmic war on the Ainur.

They were wiped out for this, some survivors making the kingdom of Gondor on Middle Earth and vowing vengeance on The Dark Lord. It would not come for many years, for even defeated in battle, Sauron reformed and terrorized Middle Earth under enigmatic titles. Only after an unlikely band of heroes challenged Sauron did his doom come with the destruction of his ring of power.

He was made a shadow of his former self, unable to achieve a corporeal shape until the destined demise of the world.

Sauron is a dark figure that views the world as imbalanced. His own key traits demand he take action against them and the deeper his mission takes him, the more madness accumulates on Sauron's person. For the sake his order, Sauron would cull many lives.

Utter destruction was never his goal and Sauron's deception was always his deadliest tool, as opposed to conquest or taking to the field of battle himself.

VS

Scar from Lion King
Ok, here's my synopsis on why I think Scar is the best villain.

First of all, he's very charismatic. He manage to manipulate Simba to listen to him and have an army of hyenas working under him. He calculated his plan accordingly. He have strong pride and unlike many other villains, his plan's actually successful. Secondly, his motivation of greed to take the throne from his brother is very relatable. His jealously is what drives him to become what he is now. He's despicable and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his dream. That's what makes Scar a great villain. Good voice actor, great design and great desire.

I liked him because of all the above and his song "Be Prepared" is very good. It explains how well-written Scar is. My favorite scene is when Scar reigned to the throne after the death of Mufasa.

FIFTH FIGHT

Keyser Soze from the Usual Suspects
Keyser Soze was the antagonist of the suspense thriller film "The Usual Suspects".An underworld boss and a major criminal with connections everywhere.
He was essentially "the boogeyman". An urban legend among the low-lives.He was said to be ruthless and scary. Compared to the devil himself throughout the movie.
Nobody knew if he existed or not. They only heard stories and rumors. But ofcourse, bad things happened to people who went against him.
I think the fact that the character was not shown/revealed explicitely until the last scene of the movie makes it all the more interesting and mysterious. We as viewers may even doubt of his existence. And atlast when the truth unravels we'll realise it is too late. We will realise that everything that happened in the movie was all a part of his grand plan.
As Verbal said "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didnt exist"

VS

Aizen from Bleach
- Aizen is the embodiment of charisma, and a full time troll who casually deceived the entirety of the spiritual world and his own people, while parading around with a kind-hearted persona. He lead a double life for hundreds of years, biding his time until he finally had the necessary preparation required to fuck them all over. A very patient, hardworking and a driven man.

- He's an extremely meticulous individual who ohestrated the downfall of an ancient natural order, planned the entire life out of the mc just so he could one day meet him in battle for a few moments of amusement, and decided to shake the very foundation of the world he resides in because "A winner has to speak not of the world as it is, but of the world as it should be" Has a God complex as with most villains but with a "noble end goal"

- His character is probably the only shining light within the bleach verse, which is especially true once you get to the end game where his presence alone makes the clusterfuck of story bearable. (This is after he's been defeated by mc plot amour. Still never gets fully "redeemed" or turned into a good guy cliche. Still has his own goals even at the end).

- In short, he's the 🐐.

Out of the countless troll moments we're given for Aizen in the Bleach series, this one definitely hits the hardest, and is by far the most mentally scarring.

While his peers are trying their hardest to stop Aizen from releasing his op ass powers in the form of complete hypnosis, he allows them enjoy a brief moment of respite and happiness (landing a "critical hit") before he brutally shuts them all down by revealing to them that it was just a fantasy in thier heads, and the one they had just beat down on and impaled, was in-fact one of their very own, all the while the hypnosis that they've hoped to shut down or deny activating was in effect right from the start.

This moment is then swiftly followed by a demonstration of absolute monstrous power.

In the end, he doesn't really require the op powers of hypnosis that they're all so extremely wary of to strike them all down in one simple blow.

For all his craftiness, all his planning, and all his powers of manipulation and deception, at the end of the day he's just monstrously strong.

He trolls the protagonists and good guys at every turn, while also trolling the entire fandom.

SIXTH FIGHT

Makima from CSM
Why I Love Makima
The reveal of her motivations in #83 was amazing. She is one of my favourite female characters in all fiction.

"All the evil I have done was for the sake of creating a perfect world with no more death, hunger, war or suffering."

The above line hits very different when it's uttered by an actual supernatural entity, vs a mere mortal megalomaniac.

When someone has the power to actually guarantee Utopia, when it's just not an unattainable dream, "for the greater good" hits very different.

This sharply raised my evaluation of her the main antagonist of the series.

Yes, she's done a lot of fucked up shit, but:
They were necessary for her plans.
  1. Her plan is to create a world without suffering, war, death, hunger and many other things she considers negative.
  2. As an actual supernatural entity (she's a primal devil that is contracted with the Japanese Prime Minister), she actually had the ability to guarantee that perfect world.
I cannot stress how much #3 changes things so much for me.

When she says: "and thus shall I create a world without suffering", it's so very different because she actually can.

This isn't a megalomaniac human speaking. This is a Primal Devil, who can actually acquire the power to do so.

The fact that her utopia is not just a pipe dream but something she can make reality, makes her so much more compelling.

She intends to kill death, war, suffering, hunger and other evils.

She's no Lelouch, and that matters.

It is important that this utopia she speaks of is a very real concept. That this is no pipe dream she's dangling before us, but something that she can make reality.

For example, the US President realises that her vision of Utopia is something she can actually deliver on (albeit he considers it a terrible peace):

For him, her utopia is a dystopia that he will not surrender to without a fight:

It's something he's willing to make heavy sacrifices for:

When the leader of a Superpower is willing to take heavy sacrifices to prevent you from realising your goals, it hits different.

I think that she is the best executed example of "for the greater good" I've seen in contemporary Shounen manga.

All things considered, I think her character is amazing.

I started the manga because she's pretty and I heard she's a manipulative, sadistic bitch and God, doesn't that sound incredibly hot, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a character who's goals I find commendable and methods understandable.

VS

Dio Brando from JoJo
Dio Brando, started out as a kid in the slums who had great ambitions to become rich no matter what it took. He managed to abuse Jonathan Joestar's, the protagonist's, father's kindness and became adopted into the Joestar family. He repayed his kindness with coldblooded schemeing and meticulous planning to put Jonathan as far down as possible while bringing himself as high up as possible. However as they grew older Jonathan quickly began to surpass dio in physical prowess and other feats. One thing leads to another, and while Dio's intent was to sabotage Jonathan, he discovered that a certain stone mask turned a man into a man into what would later be discovered to be a vampire.
Dio decided to use the mask to turn himself into a vampire, gaining eternal life and power at the exchange of never being able to bask in the sunlight ever again.

He is eventually defeated by Jonathan Joestar, or at least so they thought. Untill he shows up again 100 years later only to terrorize the Joestar family bloodline yet again for his own goals and purposes.

He's an asshole, but he has charisma to the max. He's a cheeky bastard that you love to hate.

Nope lol. If you've read CSM you would know Makima is a top tier viillian who brings a fresh perspective on the word "villain" itself.

Dio is mad overrated
I didn’t read CM but the summary interested me more than Dio whole career. Dio best moment was when he was in the shadow and we only saw his back.

Dio is not an amazing villain. He has a cool fight with Jotaro and guessing his powers was fun, that’s it.
