Was Big Mom a waste of a character?

I honestly feel like Oda wasted Big Mom, everytime she appears she does something completely humiliating. Her entire reason for coming to Wano was to kill Luffy, but instead she’s being used as a hypetool for Kidd and Law. It makes me question what is even the point of her existing?

Too anyone about to defend her, compare the way she’s been treated to Whitebeard, Blackbeard, Shanks, and even Kaido lol. There’s no comparison.

What do you guys think about this?

She was never meant to be part of this arc, plain and simple. The fact that her crew was basically destined to be climbing the river for the entire arc said it all. The original 5v2 was also broken up for no good reason in the moment just to pave way for the real main fight (Luffy vs Kaido). If she falls to Kid and Law without doing much, it would just cement her as an actual meme.

As much as most would hate to see this, the Meme has a chance to make Elbaf’s cast if Oda cares enough or realizes the need to give her some closure.

I mean she was meant to be a part of this arc. Not 5 chapters after Luffy escaped WCI, BM and Kaido were already talking to each other about allying. This was before Wano

That was after the train wreck that was WCI’s second half. Wano was set up in the making years prior, 5 chapters before makes her a last minute addition. She was never part of the original plan and it’s clear from how she’s been handled.

BM's "moments' = flexing against the likes of Judge,P1 and Capone lol
Queen, too.

I think 1 of 2 scenarios happens.

She gets Yeeted off and happens to land on her crews ship, knocking them down yet again but she is with them for the 2nd time.

She straight up leaves Kaido in front of his face when he needs her / finishes him herself and escapes.

I never felt she was truly losing in Wano. With the newest chapter having Law&Kidd declare "you're not getting the chance to team back up with Kaido", i feel she will ultimately get stalled or leave, not defeated.

Luffy may not have all of his declarations be true (i thought they were. close though, right?) but Luffy declaring something as oddly specific & passionate as "I'll beat your ass all over the New World" has to pay off.

She may wind up in Elbaf, we all anticipate her as a big bad, and she essentially gets the "Reccome vs Goku" treatment. She is a freak of strength but her aura&d.f leaning into that is a larger portion of her strength. Luffy won't even consider flinching to her & will get the chance to show off by beating Big Mom decisively.

Oda has been making bad decisions throughout this arc and some people still turn a blind eye to it. The first point is; What's the need to have Big Mom here? He never knew how to work her and Kaido as the equivalents they were meant to be. Innumerable times she was subjected to jokes that were little by little minimizing her authority. There is no one in the fandom who still considers the woman as a potential threat, merit of all the comic situations in which she is used. If he needed to reintroduce her to work on his downfall, why not do it on Elbaf? with all the strong connections that exist in the character's background with this particular island.

Oda was greedy with the desire to make Marineford look like a joke with this war in Onigashima, and it turns out we're now getting another joke, as nothing here works.
